Chocolate Challenge 2016

On April 7 we will be participating in the Chocolate Challenge hosted by The Gourmet Warehouse!

We are proud to share the evening with the best chocolatiers in Vancouver: Bearfoot Bistro, Chez Christophe, Chocolate Arts,  Gem Chocolates, Purdy’s Chocolates, Temper Chocolate & Pastry, and Thomas Haas.

In addition to chocolate, your ticket includes tastings from Tartine Tarts, Tacomio, Sebastian & Co, Terra Breads, Sundance Seafood, Earnest Ice Cream, Dry Soda and Stumptown Coffee.

“Join us Thursday April 7th, 2016 at 6:30pm for an evening of food, wine, and chocolate, and help us feed the children in our neighbourhood. The Chocolate Challenge pits 8 of Vancouver’s best chocolatiers against each other in a competition to create the best original chocolate. As our guest, you will sample and vote on your favourite creation.


100% of ticket sales, silent and live auction proceeds will be to the Strathcona Backpack Program and Project Chef.

The Strathcona Backpack program strives to ensure that local children have access to nutritious food on the weekends, in addition to weekday meals provided by the school funded food program. Every Friday, children pick up a backpack of foods to fill the hunger gap of the weekend. The Backpack program now feeds over 275 children weekly.

Project Chef is a school program geared towards children in Kindergarten to Grade 7. It aims to teach children about healthy food choices and enables them to make nutritious meals for themselves.”

Easter Specials

  • We will be open on Good Friday (9am – 6pm) and closed on Easter Monday.

  • We’re open regular hours on Easter Sunday, 10am-5pm and have a few Easter nests and “Chick” macarons available (first come first served).


Easter Bunny Nest: a macaron sculpture with an Easter theme!
The base “nest” is a large macaron filled with raspberries and vanilla cream and placed on top are a Bunny (caramel milk chocolate filling) and a Chick macaron (lemon) along with colorful macarons of assorted sizes and flavours. The sculpture will be presented in a transparent box with a ribbon.

Orders have to be placed by March 20 for a pick up on March 25, 26 or 27
We recommend you enjoy the treats within 48 hours to get the maximums freshness and flavour. Only a few sculptures will be available for walk-in customers on Easter week-end.
$22.50 tax included (colors may vary from picture)

– Some Easter Bunnies and Chicks macarons will be available on their own with our other macarons (Bunnies $3.50, Chicks $2.25).

French Made will be celebrating the 5th Macaron Day in Vancouver on March 20 and you are all invited to share the love of macarons and support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation!

“Le Jour du Macaron” started in Paris in 2005, invented by famous Chef Pierre Hermé and French Made initiated the tradition in Vancouver in 2012. This year we will be celebrating le Jour du Macaron at our Mount Pleasant café (81 Kingsway) and at the Atelier kitchen in South Vancouver.

At the café, a donation jar will be available and each customer will receive a free mini macaron and a percentage of all the sales of macarons will be donated to the Foundation. There will be 17 to 18 flavours of macarons and also large macarons (3”) in different flavours.

We are also very happy to announce the launch of a new kind of macaron: an eggless vegan-friendly version of French Macarons that even non-vegans will enjoy! For the moment, one flavour is available: dark chocolate with Nuez date-almond milk and coconut milk. We are working on developing a couple of other flavours for later in the spring. For now vegan macarons are available frozen every day at the café (wait 10-15 minutes to enjoy them) and we will have some fresh ones on Macaron Day.

At the Atelier, Chef David will be teaching all the secrets to make perfect macarons on March 19 and 20. The 2.5 hours hands-on class is limited to 7 students each day and everyone will walk home with a macaron-making kit and the macarons made during the class (about 24 macarons per student).

The cost is $110 tax included and 25% will also be donated to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Available in limited quantities on February 13 and 14 at the Mount Pleasant café (81 Kingsway).


May be purchased individually ($2.25 in a cello bag or $3.25 with a box), in boxes of 2 ($5.00), 6 ($12.50) or 12 ($25).

Our best selling gluten free molten heart chocolate cake made with Cacao Barry dark chocolate. Just pop it in the oven or microwave to reveal the dark chocolate lava oozing from the cake!






* All the gluten free recipes are made without wheat or any other ingredient containing gluten but wheat flour is used in the kitchen to bake some of our cakes.

Celebrating the Year of the Monkey!

We will be open from 10am until 5:30pm on Family Day, Monday February 8.

For your celebrations of the Year of the Monkey we are baking some very special monkey-shaped macarons! They are available by order only, orders have to be placed by February 1 by phone (604-558-4880) or email or in person at the café.

Choice of filling: Jasmine green tea ganache or Black sesame-matcha ganache. These flavours are also available as regular macarons ($2 each, 6 for $10.50 and a dozen for $20).

Monkey macarons are $3.50 each tax included (they are larger than our regular macarons, 2.25 to 2.5″ diameter)
